Really, it’s a case of nested boxes.

The biggest and outermost box is when Doug Hanna thought Accounting for NonAccountants was a good idea and a worthwhile addition to the b5 media community. And b5 media management agreed. And 12,710 readers / page views agreed in the 1^st month. Without these, there would be no blog.

The next box is my wife, Mila (the real writer in the family who has published a book of love poems), who kept egging me on: Why don’t you write about your business experience? Why not –a book on financial management? So, this blog is the start of a book.

Then, there is the health pro’s advice: If you don’t use it, you lose it. AccountingSolver keeps me abreast –not only through the Business Channel blogs, but also through the other b5 media Channels. Blogging is a great stimulant and the best upper ever (specially when you get noticed / noted by http://www.projectmanagement411.com/, http://www.linkedintelligence.com/, http://www.commonsensepr.com/, http://www.yieldingwealth.com/, http://www.interviewchatter.com/, http://www.smallbusinessboomers.com/, http://www.leadershipturn.com/, http://www.homebiznotes.com/ . It is habit forming and addictive (with all the heads-up, support & sharing, DIYs, and BTWs from http://www.taxgirl.com/ –the b5media Business Channel Editor).

Why b5media?

The legend behind the Year of the Rat in the Chinese Zodiac explains it better (besides being timely since 2008 is the Year of the Rat beginning 7 February in the eastern hemisphere, 6 February in the west). The legend tells the story of the Jade Emperor in the 6^th century inviting the animal kingdom to a race. Only 12 showed up (thus, the 12 signs of the Chinese Zodiac). To cross a river, the rat –a poor swimmer– hitched a ride on the back of the ox. Just before the finish line, the rat jumped in front of the ox and finished first (thus, the first zodiac sign in a 12-year cycle is the rat and the ox is second).

At this point, I thank b5media for playing the ox (yessss! ~3 million page views) and allowing me to hitch a ride.

Finally, the innermost box (usually where you keep the most valuable item) is: I thoroughly enjoy blogging!
